How to send private messages in Google+


Ability to send private messages is an essential feature in any social networking service. If you are looking for ways to send private messages to your buddies without making them visible to others, there is a way in Google Plus. In this article, I will explain how to send private messages in Google Plus.

One of the cool thing I like with Google+ is, it offers much more privacy options than Facebook. Moreover, everything that need to be private is private by default, unless you choose otherwise. In general, I can subscribe to any Google services without the fear of spam. On the other side, if I see an application in Facebook is requesting access to my profile, I have 0 confidence that it is safe to do so. In case of Google, I have full confidence on all Google verified Apps.

I know messages I send directly to another person is private in Facebook. IN order to send a private message to any person in Facebook, go to his profile and then click on the "Send Message" button.

But somehow, I lack the confidence to disclose anything confidential through a private message in Facebook.

How to send private messages in Google+ (Google Plus)


Unlike Facebook, it is not obvious in Google+ how to send private messages. it requires a little bit knowledge on how things work there. In Google+, you can choose who can see your text messages (streams). You have greater flexibility than Facebook messages.

In Google+, you can choose individual people or circles and give access to your message. If you choose one or more circles and give access to your messages, all members in those circles can see your message.

How to send private messages in Google Plus

Did you get how to send a private message to a person in Google Plus? If it is not clear to you yet, here it is: Publish them as regular stream in Google+, but give access only to the person whom you want this message to be addressed. By publishing a stream and allowing only one person to view it, you are indirectly sending a private message to the person you selected.

Summary:
To send private messages in Google+, write them as regular stream, but allow only the specific person to access it.
